What a BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL SUN SHINY DAY !!!!!

We are so all happy and excited today !!!!! It's been so so so long since we've seen the sun !!!!

It just feels SO SO good !!!!

I got really upset when Buddy arrived at Rikki's. He was fatter than ME !!! No fair !!! I tried to get mom to give me more to eat .... cuz I know if she'd just pop those tops on that Fancy Feast I could do it ..... but would SHE? Oh no ..... she said Buddy had to loose weight instead ..... SHE always has really bad and stoopid ideas. He's lost a lot of weight .... SHE says I need to too ...... Grrrrrrrrr.....

She doesn't want her water dumped and her pool cleaned and filled with fresh water !!!!

Notice how her right wing doesn't look like her left? That's called angel wing. It's a common birth defect .... or would that be hatch defect? The wing bone is twisted at an odd angle. Doesn't bother them much. They can't fly .... but the domestic geese aren't very good at flying anyway. Not more than a few feet just barely above the ground.

They say angel wing is caused when the humidity inside the shell isn't right and the wing sticks to the side of the shell and so can't develop right. Lots of our geese have that .... cuz that's one reason nobody loved them ..... imperfect .... throw them out.

Just like me and Timmy and Sylvestra. We all have back leg and feet issues and so nobody wanted to love us. Well not nobody .... but nobody cept Rikki's and YOU !!!!!

Favorite Afternoon Goose Tree

Under this tree is the favorite spot for the geese on nice afternoons. They're funny, they have rounds they make during the day .... different little cliques go in different directions doing goose kind of things. Then in the middle of nice days they all gather under this tree. After a rest and chat, they split up again. In the evening they all come together and go to one of their favorite night roosting areas together. It changes depending on the time of year and the weather, but they all want to be together.

See the ruts from the tires? That's from the giant heavy well repair truck that had to come in. We try not to allow any driving off gravel driveways when things are wet and muddy cus it causes so much damage to the land. Things like this take years to heal cus now there's holes to collect water to make it mushy with every little rain.

But sometimes you gotta choose .... mud or no water .... We went for the mud !!!!
