I think we can .... I think we can .... I think we can .... I think we
can ....
And remember believing in yourself is half the battle!!!

I have friends all over the world. Lots right here in the United
States. And friends in Canada and Mexico and Guatemala and Peru and
Venezuela and Norway and Denmark and Holland and Sweden and England and
Scotland and Wales and Germany and Spain and Italy and Greece and Turkey
and Pakistan and India and Thailand and Hong Kong and Japan and
Indonesia and Australia and New Zealand.
Lots of them I met on Facebook. And they've been voting. And we've
been in number one for many many weeks. And now when we're down to only
days to go. I get overtaken! My friends are all still voting and it's
neck and neck.
We're all different, but we band together.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4906997951/
We may have different ideas but we have one common goal - to give all
critters the right to life! And Rikki's Refuge winning this contest
will help do just that!!!
It really seems fair Rikki's Refuge should win as number one in
Virginia. We're the biggest in the state. We take care of the most
animals. 1259 have a bed with us each and every night. 23 species. My
dedicated hoomans feed us and give us medical care and love, so much
love. We don't have to live in cages. This is home for life, our very
own natural life, for ever and ever. And I bet Rikki's does all this on
one of the smallest budgets in the whole state of Virginia too!
At Rikki's we love everybody and everybody gets along and loves one
another - no matter what.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4907588892/
But I guess some hoomans just have to win. All the time. I just hope
the other contenders (that's a big word for a cat, huh?) are playing
fair like us cats and dogs do. But sometimes I worry about them
hoomans. Lots of my votes come from my facebook friends everywhere.
They're in different time zones and they can vote around the clock. And
their voting is visible for the world to see.
And now it looks like somebody has complained about me and facebook says
I'm not allowed to talk much for several day, till the contest is over.
But now I won't be allowed to post VOTE FOR ME but once a day, so my
friends in different time zones will miss the reminder. And I'm not
even allowed to comment and talk to a lot of my friends. Even answer
their notes. They'll think I don't like them anymore. Boooo. This
makes me sad. It's like I'm grounded for something I didn't do.
Why can't we just get along and play together nice?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4907588986/
I was playing fair and square. I have a lot of friends cuz YOU love how
we save so many animals. But somebody out there seems to think if they
can't have more friends they'll just quash us and try to take ours away.
My bro Fang (his name is Fang cus that one fang is all the teeth he's
got) spent most of his life on the streets fighting to survive and he's
so happy to have a comfy home with lots of food for his retirement years
and this is what he thinks of anybody trying to quash Rikki's and
jeopardize his chance at a happy home
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4907589012/
Oh well, when it's all over I may not win this challenge, but I know I'm
the real winner cuz I have the bestest friends in the whole wide world YOU!
If you've got any way to help step up our voting and show everybody that
good and kindness and love will prevail - PLEASE HELP.
Ask everybody on the bus or the subway or your carpool this morning to
vote - it's only four days, just four times!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4687323351/
Don't let anybody go out to lunch today without voting first!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4690585168/
Pass by an internet cafe on the way home from work? Stop in and ask
everybody to vote.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4708775519/
Everybody can vote - there's no discrimination here!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/469107192/
Don't have the little link handy? http://bit.ly/bDLKJY Then just go to
www.RikkisRefuge.org and click on the $100,000 and you can enter just
Rikkis Refuge (remember no ' ) and VA and with just that it can find us!
So easy. Make sure all your friends know to search, vote and then
identify the animal.
Together all you good, kind, loving and caring people and cats and dogs
and everybody - WE CAN WIN !!!!!
I have just one thing to say to them who got my facebook blocked right
at such a strategic time:

I hate to be so fixated on your hooman money. But it IS what keeps us
alive. The medical bills, the medicines, the flea prevention, the food,
the electricity and on and on. Money is the root of what makes it all
go round! Check out this video my friend did! He's helping to spread
the word about voting too!

Slow, gentle, patience wins everything!
Did you get any good pictures? Send them to me!
My friend Sharon writes in, I have a devious mind, much like a feline,
and I can't see how a Cocker Spaniel group could be so large that they
beat Rikki's every time. Something is very fishy in Denmark and it is
not the kind of fish you would want to eat. How many people even know
what a Cocker Spaniel is? Or are they the almighty world wide Cocker
Spaniel savers with divisions in every country in the world? I think
they have everyone in their offices voting for them and as a last ditch
effort, why not encourage everybody who works in an office to get the
cubicle gophers to vote for Rikki's? I mean, all office workers
participate in football pools on company time, why not vote for a good
cause on the good old coffee break?
I've already emailed all my retired friends and they are helping, but if
I was back at an office, I bet I could have had 10 or 20 people voting
everyday. YOU CAN'T LOSE THIS ONE! Those Cocker Spaniel people are
up to something and must be denied victory at any cost. Tomorrow I am
going to the library and vote from every one of their computers in
addition to my home. Its the only way I can figure out how to vote
more. Maybe it will work. I do have a multiple-split personality,
again a most feline trait, and can be any number of different people in
a single day. If it works in my library, I intend to vote at every
computer terminal at every library that accepts my card.

bring so much joy into our lives, I would be lost without mine.
