David Hanych Memorial

David A. Hanych has come to join us at the Rainbow Bridge.  Being a cat lover, and friend to all animals, he was reunited with many friends here.  Aslan his kitty, Vincent his buddy, and many many others were here to welcome David.

David, only 60, is young for a hooman to join us.  He is survived by his beloved Neptune, whom he adopted two years ago, and his beloved Uncle Walter Pindor.

David loved his job at the National Science Foundation and was very proud of his recent webcast promoting "Citizen Scientists".   http://www.nsf.gov/news/news_videos.jsp?cntn_id=124991&media_id=72892&org=NSF    Way to go David !!!!!!!  (sorry I can’t get it to embed here)

David was from Cleveland, Ohio and was living in Arlington, Virginia, from where he’d drive down to visit Rikki’s Refuge.  He also enjoyed coming to the National Capital Cat Show at the Dulles Expo Center to visit with Vincent and watch him scoot the agility course.

The David Hanych Memorial Fund will be used to support the kitties of the 9th Life Retirement, Assisted Living and Psychiatric Center at Rikki’s Refuge.  Funds will go towards the building fund for an addition we’re dreaming of .....  starting with a pre-fab building like this  ....   where the downstairs would have screened space for the breeze on a lovely day and the upstairs would provide cozy views out of the windows on rainy days.

I think David and Neptune would approve!

I’d love to hear your stories of David, add them to the comments and I’ll be updating this post to include them.
