Another
one of those overcast drizzly days .....
but it really is warm enough to be swimming in every puddle you can find
!!!!

can't get this thing started without opposable thumbs ..... I want to head back
home to Egypt where it's sunny and warm all the time .... all this dreary cloudy wet weather is for
the birds ....

Here's
a map of Rikki's ........ on Caturdays
(that's Saturday if you only speak hoomaneese) you can visit from 12 to 2,
bring your donations to drop off, meet Murphy and other kitties, Honors the
horse and his sheep friends, goats, cows and horses Madison and Lucy.
Be
sure to use the entrance on route 20 right at the corner of Quarterhorse
Ln. 21410 Constitution Hwy, Rapidan VA
22733. The gate is right off rt 20 NOT
down and long gravel roads .... so if you're GPS leads you down one of them
... STOP .... go back and look for our
gate.
This map of Rikki's shows our world, it's inside the yellow lines, all 450 acres of our land. Most of it in woods and wet lands .... never to be destroyed .... here forever for the rightful inhabitants .... the native wildlife.
See the areas in the green boxes? That land was all clear cut in the last year or so, yes, very recently. We're loosing our wild lands and our wildlife fast .... YOU can preserve land for eternity for the animals it rightfully belongs to .... make a donation to our Land Fund to help us acquire more to protect all the animals.
Want to leave a legacy behind, have a large sum you'd like to leave now or when you leave this planet? Together we can save one of those large areas of woods and wetlands you see on this map. We never have and never will cut or harm the land we have gotten in it's natural state. The areas where we have built our animal neighborhoods was on land that was cleared and pasture when we got it. We've never cut a tree .... except those that have fallen over in storms and landed across roads and on fences and buildings ..... and we never will.
Our native land is sacred .... help us save as much as possible for future generations of wild animals to love and enjoy.
We also have a beautiful white pig! Meet Lucy !

YOU imagine how hard we work to keep a piggie white!!
Look
at those long lush bristles !!!! This
piggie sure knew how to get ready for winter.
If you don't meet Lucy till summer time when it's hot, she'll look pink,
cuz these bristles will shed out and her summer coat will be very sparse.

Off !!!!!
Do
you know anybody who just never stops showing off? No matter who's around?
Folks they know .... folks they don't .... folks trying really hard to
ignore them ? But they've just got to
keep up the act, LOOK AT ME ..... LOOK
AT ME ..... LOOK AT ME ..... They never catch on that everybody is sick
and tired of looking at them?
Well maybe you're thinking of a peacock !!! Not the lady peacocks, they're quiet and polite and mind their own business. But these guy peacocks .... especially in spring ... they want to flaunt and show off for every creature on the planet .... SQUAWK .... LOOK AT ME ..... I'M THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OF ALL ..... SQUAWK ..... YOU don't think I'm just the fabulous one? Well let me stick my tail feathers in your face .... Now don't you see? I'm the bestest of all. Even the female peacocks get sick and tired of these show offs and try to avoid them!!!
The guineas have absolutely no interest in Mr Peacock. They pity him for needing everybody's attention all the time. The guineas are working towards world peace .... they alert everyone to dangers, they break up fights be it same species or cross species, they are always working to protect everyone. They look at Mr Peacock in all his self proclaimed glory and say to each other ... just imagine if he could get over having to prove himself and get with the program of world peace .... then they shake their heads and walk away, looking for more kindness to share with the planet.
