at Rikki's Refuge
We
woke up to cloudy and 32 degrees this morning .... and by 9 it was raining and raining and raining ..... and the evil weather hooman says it's gonna
keep on raining for weeks .... maybe 40
days .... ugghhhh
Nobody
wanted to go out there today .... so
tired of the rain ....
Everyone
agreed
Baaaaaaad
weather
Every
nook and cranny stayed filled all day
YUP
... I'm stayin right here till I finish it all
I'll
just hang out here with my favorite chicken
Boyfriend
lives outside at the Life Center
the
hoomans keep inviting him in and he loves to spend his time looking in the
windows or standing at the door howling like he's begging to come in.
but
the second a hooman gets close enough to open the door for him, he bolts. He got caught and brought inside once and
ran screaming and beating on the door till they let him out. Someday he'll probably decide to come
in. Until then .... he can be happy where he wants to be!
Kaitlyn
always likes to be outside
and
even she gave up on today. Lauren
heated up some kitten milk for little Jinx, and the other kittens and after
they were finished Kaitlyn wanted some. Here she is in a food coma, the most
content we've ever seen here.
By
afternoon it was 48 degrees .... still with a steady rain .... and it was feeling warm .... windows were
opening and the guineas were clustering around taking a shower !
Hoomans
stayed hard at work all day long
It's
my job to make sure they work all the time .... no resting for the hoomans ....
they have to work work work to keep us aminals happy !!!
David came to give Titan some apple slices
David came to give Titan some apple slices
They
love each other. David saved Titan's
life and now visits him several times a week with apple slices !!! Titan gets so excited when he sees David's
truck coming !!!
Here
comes Poppy leading the goose gang !
Today
was really for the birds ......
By
the end of the day
everything
and everywhere was running rivers and floods.
Rivers
running in Bovine Boulevards
So
much rain even the birds took cover from time to time ....
and
it didn't let up all night. At times
it's been torrential downpours .... and
more predicted for tomorrow and the next day and the next.
I'm sure glad it's not snow .... but it will be several weeks before the world dries up enough to make it safe to drive around the refuge and people won't be slipping and sliding in the mud .... I think this really means spring is here with all it's rains !!!
