at Rikki's Refuge
Well Good Morning to YOU too !!! No need to poke me ... I'm fine ... actually
I was deep asleep here in the sun up on the rafter .... you really didn't need
to climb all the way up here .....
Twice a day everybody at Rikki's gets checked on to make sure they are ok. Ever have a cat disappear on you in your house? Go frantic, search the house. Get hysterical and worry, could the cat have gotten out? And just about when you're ready to call on a real search party .... there's your cat staring at you with a look of Oh You Stoopid Hooman on ther face!!!
Then you know the way too often feeling of having to make eye contact with all the cats in 10 cat houses, the 9th Life Center, the Office Trailers, the Life Center ..... it's almost a full time job.
And sometimes somebody is sleeping deep and doesn't wake up .... and you can't see them breathing .... and you poke them to make sure ... OUCH ... and discover they are feral and think you're attacking so lash out !!!!
Morning and evening rounds are some of the most important things done every day, every single day, no matter what, and everybody stays till everybody is accounted for ..... no mater their species.

The warm day it rained a little grass grew ... but we ate it all. The pickins are slim .... we need HAY !!!!!

Doug heard about a hay deal ..... but was it a GOOD deal ? The price was right .... was the hay nice and clean and not moldy
??? If it really was a good deal, we
couldn't afford to turn it down .... 30
great big round bales of hay at almost a 1/3 of what we've been paying
..... that's almost a 3 week supply
when the grass isn't growing well ....
Keep your paws crossed it grows well during this warm snap so we don't
have to rely on hay all winter .....
Everybody lined up in their pick up trucks to go
check out the hay ...... even Obie !!!

diet, they said ..........
Ohh just look at what the kind and generous
supporters got for us !!!! With out
our wonderful folks out there .... well
... we'd be mighty hungry tonight !!!

My, she's gone to bed early, all curled up in her nest .... many kitties like to stay up long into the
night, especially on a warm one like tonight !!!
