Victor is headed off to the doc ....
He has major surgery today.
Normally neutering is simple .... all his step brothers and cousins have been
“done” .... but he is a cryptorchid, which means his testicles didn't come down
to the right place. That “right place” means they're easy to do with relatively
minor surgery. But when they're stuck in the abdomen, then it's more like spay
surgery. Can be even more difficult than that ... as it can be difficult to
find out where they are hiding. So why worry about it?
The problem is a cryptorchid
might ... or might not ... be fertile .... and could become fertile at any time
..... and with 40 or more sisters, cousins, aunts and even his mom ...... this
could result in a real population explosion .... not something we can let
happen .....
Now at 4 1/2 months ... he's
reaching a critical time .... if he's not "fixed" he can't live in
Ramsey Residence with his kind .... just in case ......
Can't he just be kept
separated from them so he doesn't have to go thru this surgery?
Well .... it's a
possibility. Yet with the way the hoomans are always being outsmarted ... and
the animals escaping ....
ALL the sheep and cows were
out twice in the last week .... seems somebody learned how to open the clip on
the chain ... they already know how to open the gate and that's why there's a
clip and chain ..... now there is a padlock and the key is hidden and without
opposable hooves .... hopefully they will be staying in their own pastures
.... So sorry .. it would have made a
great video watching all dem hoomans round up all them critters ... but when the “all hands on deck - emergency”
bell sounded ... nobody thought to grab
a camera ... not a single hooman !!!!
Silly creatures they are, I’m telling you.
And so there is a risk every
day if Victor stays on the property, even in the best fence possible .... a
horny young guy can be a formidable force ... and so do we let the hoomans
spend every day worrying and living in terror that if he got out ......
And so we've decided that to
alleviate his stress of not being allowed to be a sheep and so the hoomans can
sleep at night ....
Victor will have the surgery
today .....
Paws crossed for the little
guy, it's risky, but we've got the best team of docs and ruminant
anesthesiologists who'll be working on him .....
He's hoping some friends
will help him pay his bill to give him a normal and happy life with his family ....
after being isolated for a month while there's been some danger of possible
fertilization ... he so wants to see his mama and twin sister and all his
friends ... and he's hoping he won't be sent out to work everyday to pay off
his bill ....
if you'd like to help
Victor, you can contribute towards his surgery at www.RikkisRefuge.org/Donate

the road by 6:30 am ......

Remember ... tis the season
to be speutered ..... if you haven't .... rush to the clinic ....
if you know anyone who
hasn't .... grab 'em up and get 'em in !!!!!
Speuter IS the way to stop
the killing in shelters.
Even if YOUR kitten or puppy
finds a home .... it means another one (or cat or dog) won't .... speuter is
the kinder way ..... please be a part of the solution ..... please allow no more
animals born into a world where they "excess" is killed at a rate of
6-8 million a year .....
The solution is there ....
Speuter Clinics everywhere ... organizations who will help to subsidize it ....
in most cases speuter is cheaper than well kitten and puppy visits,
vaccinations and wormings .... Please HOOMANS .... we need your help, we can't
make our own speuter appointments ....
