And when their eyes met, something clicked. Deb held out her hand and Adriana came to sniff. Deb held out some food and Adriana ate. Up until now force-feeding had been required to keep Adriana alive. For the first time in weeks she was eating. Deb had fallen in love. Adriana had fallen in love. She was going to get a new life!
