I’m so cute !!!!
You know how hard I work to
feed all my friends here at Rikki’s. The
cats and the dogs and the cows and goats and .... well everybody .... even the
birds !!!!
So when Mom says, get out
there and get to work ..... I do .... no matter what she’s gonna make me do for
the day .... dress up like a little
hooman and do photo shoots .... go to events and give kisses ... kisses after
kisses .... for $1 each ..... You
know how many kisses that takes to feed everybody for the day?
So this time I’ve been
instructed by the higher powers that be .... the ones with the opposable thumbs
who can open the cans ..... to split
the refuge in two ....
Yews, you heard me right
.... to split us up .....
They spoke to me from above
and said .... go forth Opie and create two football teams .... and have them ready to play a very important
game by SUNDAY ....
... by Sunday?
Like WHICH Sunday, I said?
See these thumbs, my little
one? Get out and practice cus I want a
good game by Sunday, yes, THIS Sunday .....
and I’ll open all kinds of cans for you ......
And so I had to hike miles
down the road to find somebody with a TV so I could see what this football
thing is all about. You know mom, she’s
mean, we don’t even get no TV here ....
like not enough Fancy Feast and no TV .... is that rotten or what ????
Eat the dry kibble and watch the birds out the window, nature is better
for you than TV...... she with the
opposable thumbs says .......
Yeah yeah yeah ......
So me and Duke watched a
football game ..... Well I watched
.... Duke listened and I told him what
was goin on.
I mean he’s like a dog right?
They’re spozed to fetch the
ball and all, right?
Dog ... fetch .... ball
..... wouldn’t Duke be the best choice to be on MY team ?
But what does Duke say? Hey Opie, tell me where the ball is, I’m
blind, I can’t see it, I’ll be happy to retrieve it ..... if you just show me where it is .... geeeeshhhhh
And I’ve got till Sunday to
build a winning team. What I have to
go thru so everyone eats ......
I needed a strong partner
for the other team ..... a real leader ....
somebody who could help me organize all this and who could convince
everybody at the refuge to join in and help out .... I mean it’s gonna take ALL
of us working together to pull this one off by Sunday .....
So I picked Calvin to be the
captain of the other team ......
He’s probably the biggest strongest
dude here .....
Uh Oh ..... and he’s gonna
be MY opponent ?? He and ME is goin
head to head ??? Yikes ... what WAS I
thinking !!!!!!
Well .... we lined everybody up and said ok ..... how are we gonna split up into teams.
I’m Orange and maybe all you
orange ..... oh ... no ... Calvin is sort of orangy, well more than the other
cowas anyway ...
Hmmmmm .....
Hey Duke, what you and me got in common with half the critters here?
Joey stepped up and said,
you two ... you are vicious predators
... you dogs and cats don’t eat peacefully. We ... me and Calvin ... we’re peaceful plant eaters .... we
don’t never want to hurt nobody.
I said .... whoa dude ...
I’m peaceful ... I peacefully eat every can of Fancy Fest that gets opened
around here ......
And Joey said .... yeah
.... well think about it .... what goes
into those cans ......
Oh .... I don’t wanna think bout that ... me and
Duke went and hung our heads for a while and tried eatin some grass .......
..... after we gacked it up,
we came back to see that Calvin had appointed Joey as his right hand goat.
We tossed the ball around a
bit .... Duke running wild ....
scruffling ... OPIE where’s the ball ... where’s the ball ...... I wanna fetch the ball ....... Oh geeesssshhhhhh
So the teams me and Duke saw
on TV were the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks .... Hmmmm well we’s all patriots here
...... even our friends who’ve come
from Panama, Egypt, India, Bahrain, Japan ....
we’re all patriots now .....
The chickens wanted to call
us the Chicken Hawks ..... but I ain’t
a gonna be called no chicken .... no way .....
Joey and Calvin decided
they’d be the Seedeaters
And me and Duke and our team
would be the Predators .....
OK !!!! So now the team pickin is on ..... Well it seemed like a pretty fine line
..... all the cats and dogs lined up on
our side .... the Predators ....
All them grass eaters lined
up with Calvin and Joey .... the
Seedeaters ......
and WOW it worked out
..... that’s about a 50/50 mix of us
critters at Rikki’s Refuge !!!! Half
of us is cats and dogs and half of us is cows and goats and sheep and chickens
and geese and rabbits and all that ....
OK ......
So we did some more talkin
and we said, you know what ...... we’re
always begging for money to buy nums .....
this time .... how bout is we help da HOOMANS MAKE MONEY too !!!!
What a cool idea !!! We’re sharin with our hooman friends this
time !!!!
We’ve all got a lot of
practice to do, and when we play on Sunday night in our SUPPER BOWL .... Me and Duke and all the New England

So if the Patriots win ....

All winnings will be processed and sent out as soon as
possible after receiving the winner’s information, but in no case later than 5
business days after receipt of that information.
Any winner not claiming their prize within 15 days of the
drawing shall forfeit their prize and funds shall be used to buy food for the
animals of Rikki’s Refuge.

sites after the total has reached $1000 or 100 tickets for each team is NOT
buying a ticket, but is DONATING funds and a raffle ticket will NOT be issued.
ONLY the first 100 ticket purchases at $10 each, or a total

If any donation is less than $10, it shall be strictly a
donation and does NOT buy a raffle ticket.
Each $10 of a larger donation, will buy one ticket, and any
