I’m Vincent D. Cat and here to make you happy!  You are HEROES!  You work hard every day and you deserve to smile every day!  Those of you working to save us animals hear so very many very sad things.  And there’s lots of very glad things too and that’s what we talk about here!  All pawsitive all the time!  I want my friends to be happy and smile and know there’s a lot of good - including YOU - in this world!!  Be kind and pass it on!  Please send me your Good New and Fun Stuff to share, personal or global. Let’s keep it fun and interactive!!  After all, if we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane!  Vincent@RikkisRefuge.org

Happy Presidential Weekend
We are here to serve you!

Round the Refuge
It’s a super busy weekend at Rikki’s Refuge - and a long one too.  I don’t know who I’m writing to this morning cuz it seems like all of you are already here!!!   Don’t miss the tour Sunday and the events planned for President’s Day Monday!!!

Hi Vincent!
I just got home from shopping the PetSmart sale on Cat Chow. I picked up 22 bags for you and your friends, and, guess what? 13 of them were free! How, you ask?

Your friends who care for you every day cut off the weight circles from each and every bag of Purina brand cat and dog food that comes to the refuge.  Then, they are mailed in to Purina, and Purina sends your mom checks for $6 to be used towards more food!  Plus, some of your friends bring, or mail, manufacturers coupons for $ off of Cat Chow, or any Purina dry food. And they really add up!

If more people would save the weight circles and the manufacturer's coupons, you could get even more for free!

Now, this next thing may not be nice to tell you, considering that you are on a diet from Fancy Feast until enough money is raised to pay for the repairs on the cat runs, but Fancy Feast has come out with more flavors -- they have mixed cheese in with some of the favorites! Tuna with cheese, chicken with cheese, turkey with cheese, and whitefish with cheese.

Maybe, just maybe, someone will pick up a can or two for you when they go shopping for their own kitties.  Even on a diet, you need a treat once in a while.

Remember when I came out with my camera the other day? I took a bunch of pictures of the beautiful peacocks.  Well, I used one of the pictures, and made a beautiful pillow out of it, and listed it on e-bay. Hopefully, it will sell, and that will mean more money for the cat runs!

Love, Melissa

Oh, Melissa, that’s so beautiful!!!!  I just love it.  WOW who’ll be the lucky person to get that?  A pillow with Rikki’s Refuge’s very own Mr. Peacock on it!!!!

Cheezy Fancy Feast ....  grrrrr  my tummy growls ...  it’s been two days since I’ve tasted delectable Fancy Feast.  It’s been nothing but kibble and slop for me.  I’m so weak I can hardly write .....

I wonder how I’m doing on raising the funds for the materials for the cat houses?  Guess I should check.

$1,887 here

and
$130 here

Gosh, gotta take my shoe off to do this math ....  one little, two little, three little .....

WOW That’s $2,017 !!!!   Almost half way there!!!!

Please please help me reach the goal of $4,179.22 so mom can buy the materials Monday and I can EAT MY FANCY FEAST !!!!!

I love you, and thank you for helping me.  Please share these links with all your friends.  I’m giving up Fancy Feast to help my friends in the cat houses, will you give up a cup of coffee, dessert or just one small item for me?

My Favorite Quote, Today
Move, Move, Move - You CAN do it,
You can do anything you can dream!

It’s true!!!  Once upon a time I was laying in a bed, alone, abandoned by the people I loved, in pain, and I couldn’t walk.  And I began to dream.  I dreamed of healing.  And I dreamed of being loved again.  And that happened!!!  A whole new chance on life and here I was loved and happy!!!

And then I began to dream of walking again.  And I dreamed.  And I did my physical therapy, even on days it hurt.  And I dreamed.  I dreamed of traveling, of meeting wonderful people, of changing the world for all my kind!!!

And now I can scoot all over, I can run when I hear a top being popped, I travel to schools and to events, wonderful people come to meet me and I get to travel to meet them, and I’m making a difference in the world, yes I am, a great big huge difference.

Me, just an itty bitty handicapped alley cat.  And if I can do that!!  Just think of what you can do with all the resources you have at your finger tips!!!  Everything’s easier with opposable thumbs!!  Come on!!  Help me change the world!!
