Operation Loose Goose
Maverick, as she’s come to be known, in the arms of a waterfowl rescuer, is going just fine, and thanks everyone for their part in her rescue.
Some one in Lake Arrowhead in Stafford VA has a bottle of insulin (the kind we use) and a box of syringes to donate to us. Who can pick them up and bring them here? Insulin needs to be kept cool. Not out of the fridge for more than 4 hours and not heated up above like 70. So can’t leave in a hot car. A cooler and small ice pack or pack of frozen veggies will do the trick!!! Marilyn’s mom, Stacey, was our first shopper!! Stacey bought a Duke and Vincent card for her beloved Marilyn for Valentines Day!!!! Buy one for your best friend and send in their photo and I’ll put it right here!!!
The bad lady who sole-ed things back in October pled NOT guilty at her arraignment on Friday. WOW, she’s already written a confession to the sheriff???? So what’s she saying, opps I forgot, I didn’t really do it? So now it’s set for trial March 3rd. The bank called mommey and said they have returned the money that was actually taken out of her account. Nobody ever found all the checks the bad lady stole. But she never could cash them anyway. So it hurt the animals not to have all their money for food - but at least the bad lady didn’t get to use any of it.
And MORE good news!!! Mommey is talking to the game warden who came out and helped get rid of the bad trespassing poachers on New Years Day. She’s going to come out and walk property lines so she knows where to be patrolling next hunting season.
