but this IS how that rumor got started!
The goats and sheep and pigs will often run under the stream of grain being poured out into troughs and bowls ... and then some sticks in their fur. The chickens, emus and others birds will pick the grain out of their fur or bristles !!!

CINDY:
So, it has been a week of Cats vs Dogs competing to see who is smarter, better
educated and cuter. At Rikki’s Refuge,
the interviews for who should take over as Spokes Dog are still in the
primaries. Today, Jack the Beagle just finished his interview, and, well, he
didn’t try too hard for the position.
JACK:
I really didn’t want the position, it involves too much work and politics” said
Jack, who has been with Rikki’s since 2011.
CINDY:
Well, why on earth did you apply for the position if you didn’t want it? He claims his Dog Run #6 partner Boomer
made him do it.
JACK:
Boomer is a good guy, and I am impressed with his dedication to serve his
community. I am too old to have the kind of energy nor the interest in who winds
up as Spokes Dog at Doggy Downs.
CINDY:
Jack the Beagle knows that Boomer is the right dog for the job. So Jack came home and ran to finish off his
dog food, about the only thing he has the energy for.
“Vote
for Boomer” has been the battle cry for many dogs at Rikki’s Refuge these
days!!

Adventure Monkey came out to help with the party ..... then locked his
camera in the car and had to go home with out the camera or the car. But he came back for his car and now I can
share the pictures with you !!!
Well...... we couldn't give her the WHOLE refuge .... but she could have her birthday here and bring her friends ..... and she even asked all her friends to bring pressies for the animals .... instead of for her.

from Da Hooman, Late in the afternoon: ..... your favorite OpMeister was
missing .... that's very not like him .... he's always out in the open ... has
only a couple hang out places .... Snickers found a bag of treats and was
ripping them open .... so I distributed them all around equally .... and no
Opie ..... not showing up for food?
Totally unheard of!
So I sent off to search for him.... I worried he might have snuck up on the roof with Uncle Kirk .... that metal is kinds of slippery for a little guy like that, no good pads to grip on his hind legs.

can't climb ... our quarters are designed to have no intentional small hiding
places .... if Opie hears treats rattling he comes running as fast as his
little peg legs will carry him ... but I searched and searched .... no Opie ... after walking thru the couple
rooms we share ..... checking the roof ... under the bed, where I've never seen
him ..... and still no Opie .... and I was a bit worried .... it hadn't been
long since I'd seen him .... but this
is very unlike him ........ so I crawled around our quarters looking around at
Opie eye level .... still no Opie .... and then I saw ........

woke him up just to make sure he was ok ..... and he's fine ....
OPIE:
Yeah Yeah Yeah ..... if it a been a
pop top from Fancy Feast I'd a gotted up !!!!
