Good Morning Good News !!!! September 14, 2010

Good Morning Good News !!!!

I'm just dropping in to say I LOVE YOU !!!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwOU3bnuU0k

Busy busy weekend at the cat show!!!

Lots of photos to get up for you all, but mom says she's gonna use the
puter for a bit to catch up on her stuff. Like who's more important
here I ask you?

Here I am in my show outfit
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4990097550/

I won about 4 million ribbons, one for agility and one for best purring
and one for most loving and one for funnest to hang out with and one for
most visitors and .....

Here's ME running the agility course
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UHWdjkT6EA

See how well trained my hoomans are !!!!

More pics later - when mom let's me back on MY puter!

My sisfur Polly Anna - remember the gal who lost her tail and got fixed
up and adopted too - she came. This was her first show learning how to
be a spokes kitty. She writes:

Dear Vincent -- Thank you so much for inviting me to join you at the
National Capitol Cat Show in Chantilly VA this weekend. I had a great
time! It was fun to see all the people with big hearts stop by to learn
more about Rikki's Refuge, always pausing to pet you and me. Gato Noir
is very jealous I spent the weekend with you, but I assured him you
invited me along as a friend to learn the ropes of how to charm hoomans
at festivals and events. (I think he bought it wink, wink!!).

Well, I have to apologize for all the times I made fun of you at the
Ninth Life Center - whenever you bragged about how many friends you had
out in cyberspace. We all thought you were just being silly, telling
"tall tails" about your popularity on something called "Facebook". Well,
I stand corrected! You do have a fan club that must span the globe! I
don't think 5 minutes ever went by when someone wasn't stopping by to
meet the "famous Mr. Vincent" from Facebook. You change lives, Vincent!
You touch hooman's hearts and souls like no other cat I have met. Just a
few of the many examples from this weekend:

- a very nice young man came by to hold you and pet me, saying he
was interested in joining Katarina's Youth Group at Rikki's. His Mom
told me he was the only one in the family that loves cats (how can that
be possible?). She said Saturday was his 15th birthday, and the only
thing he wanted for his birthday was to go to the Cat Show!! Isn't that
amazing? What an unselfish kid!! I sure hope he emails Katarina to join
the group. He was very gentle with me and I could see he touched your
heart, Vincent!

- a 73 year old former French teacher stopped by and fell in love
with us (well, me - sorry Vincent!). She told us about how she taught
compassion along with a foreign language, knowing that kids in junior
high were at risk of losing sight of their humanity at that fragile age.
She said she was very upset about her daughter who lived far away and
was going to die of MS, and she asked my Mom if I was up for adoption.
She said she needed "something soft and sweet to cuddle with - who knew
what pain was about". I thought for a second Mom was about to let me go
home with Madame la Grange!!

- a nice girl seemed to be especially charmed with your performance
on the Agility Track - she asked my Mom a thousand questions about the
three legged cat scooting his butt around the floor. Her questions were
all answered to her satisfaction, and of course all the kids cheered
loudly at your finish at the Agility Trials. Well, a short time later
that young lady found you at the Rikki's table, and of course cuddled
you and talked to you and pet you and again asked a thousand questions
about you and how you get around. When she went over to look at the
sweet kittens up for adoption, her mom told my Mom that the girl was
severely autistic, and that "cats were her focus/obsession." She only
talks when it's about cats. And with a tear in her eye she said she was
so happy to see how much her daughter took to you, Vincent. She searched
the whole Cat Show floor to find the three-legged cat who was brave
enough for the Agility Track!!! If a little cat can be that brave, then
she could be too!!!

I love you, Mr Vincent. I love how you change the world, one hooman
heart at a time!!

Your friend, Miss Polly

Love you so much, thank you for helping at the cat show or for visiting
me, I'll be back later,
Vincent

PS If you don't want your Daily Good New, just let me know! A couple of
you have said you only want Hairballs with out the Good News!! That's
ok! Just tell me. I'm here to make you happy, just tell me how! If
Good New don't make you happy - I could always start Bad News, but, as
you hoomans say, why reinvent the wheel - that's what you've got tv and
newspapers for !!!!!

Hairballs and Happy Tails - Rikki's Refuge Newsletter a

RIKKI'S REFUGE - HAIRBALLS AND HAPPY TAILS
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4654847890/
The newsletter of thanks from grateful animals to their beloved rescuers
brought to you by Vincent D. Cat

We are the happy animals of Rikki's Refuge who so thank you for giving
us the gift of our lives. We represent all the animals, the world over,
whose lives have been saved by kind and loving people just like you.
Thank you for being an animal rescuer.

Oh my gosh !!! Has it really been THAT long since I've written you. I
hope you know about the Shelter Challenge Winner !!! You are my HERO
!!!! YOU did it !!!!!

Oh my gosh it was so close. Stayed up all night. Catching my friends
from around the world as they woke up. Hurry, hurry, vote, vote. And
friends were sharing it with friends. Hey, you know something? This
social networking really pays off. Cus at one min to the end - 3 am my
time - we were 1% ahead. And when they cute the voting off, they didn't
say who won. They said, hold your breath for two days till we count!!!
Oh no. it was so hard.

AND WE WON!!!! HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6yzjDXp_og

The next Shelter Challenge starts September 20th and runs thru December
19th. My hoomans are saying "Go for it Vincent, we'll all work to make
you number one in the NATION!" This would be very exciting!!!
http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/photostory.faces?siteId=3&storyTag=gd36umz61t8w4js51unfv

And as they keep pointing out to me - if we could get the most number of
votes in the whole wide world in week ten and everybody just kept it up
for the 14 weeks of the contest - we COULD be number ONE on the PLANET.
WOW - and I thought number one in Virginia was thrilling!!!!

Number one in Virginia won us $1,000 plus we got $1,000 for being top
voted in week 10. So a total of $2,000 YOU won for us. That serves
8,000 meals around here. Buys flea products for a couple months. Or
lots of medical care!!!

Wining the WORLD would bring us $10,000 !!!! WOW, that's like such a
big number I'd have to count everybody's toes here to get that much!

So will you vote for me every day for 14 weeks and ask all your friends
to do it too?

I've checked in with the organizations who asked their sponsors to vote
for me last time. I needed to know if they were planning on running
this time? Cuz if they were, I wanted to help them instead of compete
against them. We're all friends and we have to play fair!

AND THEY SAID, "GO, VINCENT, GO !!!!"

So we're off ... get ready and start voting on September 20. Get your
friends ready now. If you want book marks to hand out asking for votes
let me know and I'll send the file to you.

FALL IS REALLY COMING!
The leaves are already changing. The nights are cooling. The food
consumption is up. And we're shedding like mad to get out the last of
the summer coat so we can get started on growing the winter one.

And with fall comes festivals, shows, fundraisers and activities.
Here's what you can do and where you can be to support the animals of
Rikki's Refuge.

Congratulations and a great big huge THANK YOU to the Teens C.A.R.E.
program participants all summer long. Every Thursday they'd gather here
at Rikki's at 8 o'clock in the morning and they'd work like dogz (not
laze in the sun like us smart cats!) all day long, all the way till 5
o'clock. And YOU know how hot it was all summer long! This is
DEDICATION to the animals - like ME!!! It was hot and their work was
hard and tiring. Not to mention dirty and smelly. They zipped thru
litterboxes - about 60 of them. Pooper scooped dog runs. Mucked pens.
Scrubbed and mopped floors. Cleaned cages. And best of all fed us!!
It was a terrific program and really helped Lena and the staff out a
LOT this summer. SO MUCH extra work was done over the summer with this
program.

Two new sheep have joined our crowd. Ebony and Ivory. Owned by an
elderly couple no longer able to care for their animals due to health
reasons. Their chickens will be joining us soon. They have a dog they
have been facing having to give up too. They can't afford to feed her.
She's a big gal and unspayed. They've managed to keep her from having
puppies so far but it's a struggle as she tries to get away from them
when she's in heat. Restraining her is becoming more than they can do.
Our assistance program will give them a certificate to spay her and
get her shots, and our Pet Pantry will give them dog food. If you'd
like to help us help the animals and the people who love them, this is
the place to do it! http://www.rikkisrefuge.org/donate.php

Marine reunited with military dog
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4960358444/
Serving our country for five years, a local Marine is finally back in
Lubbock and against odds, he is now re-united with the military dog he
spent his entire deployment with overseas. Adam Carter, 24, enlisted in
the Marines back in 2005 and after finishing a military Canine school he
teamed up with Rex, a Belgian Malinois.

"If there was just one word it would be everywhere. He's always in to
everything. He's a real high drive dog but he's fun," said Carter.
Carter began training Rex when he was two-years-old to be a human
tracker and for the next three years the two would spend every waking
hour together while stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. "Me and him we
never parted pretty much, unless I was going to take a shower or
something but other than that we were together the whole time.
Everything I went through he went through the same thing," said Carter.
"It's great to have him there great to have someone that can keep you
warm or just to play with you know"

This year when Carter's five year service was up, he came home but Rex
didn't. Military dog handlers usually don't get to keep their combat
companions. Instead the dogs stay on the base until they've served as
long as possible, but for Rex and Carter there was hope. "The vet told
me a little while before I got out he might be up for adoption due to
the bladder surgeries that he had and other medical problems," said
Carter. So Carter took every step possible to get his military buddy
back. "It was kind of a tease at first because they have you fill out
adoption paper work just in case, and then they actually called me and
said hey get ready to come get him and made flight arrangements," said
Carter.

Just five days ago, Carter picked Rex up from the airport and the two
have been by each other's side just like before. "There's not really
words, just a lot of excitement because not a lot of people get to adopt
their dogs," said Carter. Carter and Rex plan on staying in Lubbock
Texas for a few years while Carter finishes up school at Texas Tech.

Rex looks like my Brofur Lucky
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4959762567/
who was a drug sniffing police dog. When he retired he went home with
his officer. His officer died. Grieving family members took Lucky.
But as happens, family changed, new partners, new children, other pets.
Instead of working to make the adjustment smooth for everybody, all
family members, new and old, the old dog got tied out back to a tree.
And there he lay. With out much room to move his arthritis began to
cripple him. He began to waste away from grief. He was no longer worth
the cost of preventative medicine. He contracted fleas, tics, worms,
lyme, heartworm, just about any parasite you can name. He became
skinny. He itched. He scratched. His coat got dry. Patches fell out.
He hardly had the energy to wag his tail. By the time he was dumped
at the pound he was little but a scraggly skeleton who held his head
down and could barely raise himself on his hind legs to walk. Many,
many months of care, treatment and therapy later - he's a very happy
doggy. What a difference this happy old dog who trots out to greet
visitors!!! I bet the policeman who loved Lucky so much is very happy
he's at Rikki's now.

Who gave me panda eyes?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4960358574/
Clearly this poodle's owner wanted the best of both worlds. The fluffy
canine was given a makeover when its owner decided to dye its hair so it
resembled a giant panda for a pet fair in Shanghai, China. What exactly
the pooch thought of the startling result is unclear - but it certainly
turned heads as its owner proudly paraded their handiwork at the show.

And where dogs are a man's best friend, the feeling might not be so
strongly returned by this spruced-up pooch. This frankly
alarmed-looking animal looks a lot more manageable to care for than a
real panda, with one of the endangered creatures typically weighing
around 330 lbs. One thing is for sure - we bet it caused panda-monium
when it saw what it looked like. The craze for transforming poodles has
swept the U.S. too, where the breed are trimmed, dyed and adorned with
fancy dress outfits in canine 'creative grooming' shows.

Editors note: don't see 'em doing that to us pussy cats, now do ya?

About enough of dogs for the day, huh?

From Asif: Sow flowers so your surroundings become a garden. Don't sow

Two young goats rescued from bridge after two days stranded on six-inch
ledge!

Two young goats were rescued Wednesday after spending nearly two days
stranded 60-feet in the air on a narrow 6-inch ledge of an old railroad
bridge in Montana. A piece of mining equipment brought them to safety.
The Rimrock Humane Society in Roundup, Montana received a call
Wednesday morning from a person who reported seeing two goats stuck on
the train bridge. The two female goats had been there for nearly two
days. Sandy Church, president of the Rimrock Humane Society, Cory
Freeman from Animal Edventures and a deputy from the Musselshell County
sheriff's department traveled to the area to investigate.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4956488801/

"We have absolutely no idea how or why these little critters would go
out on this bridge," Church told the Billings Gazette. "The only thing
we can figure is it happened at night and they were unsure of their
surroundings. Once morning came, they were too scared to walk back
where they came from." Church worried the goats would fall off their
high perch. The animals stayed on the angled thin ledge during their
entire ordeal, even though a wider pillar was only a few feet away.
Once in a while they tried to lie down, but then quickly realized it
made them more vulnerable. "The whole time, we thought they were going
to fall off," Church told The Associated Press. "These guys are just
babies."

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4957080280/

Authorities were contacted on Tuesday, when the goats were first seen.
But there was some confusion about their exact location and it took
Church and her co-workers to actually find the stranded animals. The
three organizations brainstormed about how to safely rescue the goats.
They enlisted the help of officials at Signal Peak Energy, which
operates a nearby coal mine. Byron Kinn, surface superintendent for
Signal came to the bridge and studied the situation. Finally mine boss
John DeMichiei signed off on a rescue plan at 1 p.m. DeMichiei brought
a piece of mining equipment to the bridge, with an arm high enough to
reach the goats. "We thought they were going to panic, but it was just
the opposite," said Church who videotaped the five minute rescue.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4956488863/

The goats were hungry, but in good condition. They were taken to
Freeman's animal sanctuary. The two goats had collars around their
necks, and Church and Freeman are searching for their owner. Both
rescuers hope the animals were not abandoned, but if it turns out that
way - there are a lot of people already offering to adopt the goats.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4957080328/

Mom knows what the response will be when the owner of the goats are
found, "Goats? MY goats? Oh, those two. Hmm well they are really
problems. They've gotten out of every fence we've ever built for them.
They're always into trouble. When we moved out here we thought it'd
be cheaper to get goats then getting a lawn mower. More energy
conserving too. But gosh, these guys are real trouble. Could you ...
ummm .... well ... could you just keep them?"

Don't they look just like Joey and Jessie, just brown. Now you can't
imagine them in that much trouble could you?

Volunteers Needed for Wire Wrapping at Ben Brenman Park
The beavers in Ben Brenman pond need your help! In order to save the
park's beavers from being removed and euthanized (according to State
Law), the park's beautiful trees require protection. To accomplish this
task, the Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural
Activities is scheduled to wrap some 100 plus trees in the park with
wire mesh to protect them from being damaged by the beavers. Many trees
that were previously wrapped also need rewrapping. This event is
scheduled to take place on September 11, from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM. The
help of local residents is urgently needed! It is crucial to have
volunteers ages 16 or older assist in this project, which is part of
Alexandria's "Big Event", so that the beavers can continue to peacefully
coexist within the park's natural environment.

Anyone wishing to help should call the City Naturalist at 703-746-5522
and register to attend... For those who cannot attend, a donation of $10
or more dollars can be made to Alexandria's "Living Landscape Fund" in
the name of "Alexandria's Beavers" by calling Judy Lo at 703-746-5490.

Lori ?~How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours~

This guy ended up luckier than our Hemi. Hemi took a ride on an engine
and burned his feet horrible. He was sent to us from Baltimore since
the wounds would need extensive healing care. He's fine now! But it
was a long recovery.

Margaret Gendek got into her her 2007 Suzuki at 9 AM at her South Egg
Harbor home Thursday. Four hours later - after she had driven to her
doctor's office in Absecon, a pharmacy in Pleasantville, picked up her
husband at the bus terminal and driven him to work - she heard the cries
of her cat Bobblehead from under the hood of her car. Bobblehead had
lodged himself deep in the engine compartment near the wheel well. "We
couldn't believe it', she explained. "I thought, My God, he must be
tangled up in the motor." Gendek and her husband, Marty, raced over to
the nearby Pleasantville firehouse off Washington Avenue. Twenty minutes
and a few removed car parts later, the eight-month-old tabby was pulled
from under the hood by Pleasantville firemen Tom Tripician of
Pleasantville, Tom Williams of Egg Harbor Township and Captain Scott
Trythall of Mays Landing. The firemen didn't want to make a fuss of the
rescue before rushing off to attend to a motor vehicle accident.
Bobblehead was a bit shaken but uninjured, and was true to his name as
he was taken home on the front seat of the car.

the Interstate when they saw the sign that said Disneyland LEFT. They
started crying and turned around and went home.

FLORIDA OR MOON - Two hoomans living in Oklahoma were sitting on a bench
talking, and one hooman says to the other, 'Which do you think is
farther away... Florida or the moon?' The other hooman turns and says
'Helloooooooooo, can you see Florida ?????'

CAR TROUBLE - A hooman pushes her BMW into a gas station. She tells the
mechanic it died. After he works on it for a few minutes, it is idling
smoothly. She says, 'What's the story?' He replies, 'Just crap in the
carburetor' She asks, 'How often do I have to do that?'

SPEEDING TICKET - A police officer stops a hooman for speeding and asks
her very nicely if he could see her license. She replied in a huff, 'I
wish you guys would get your act together. Just yesterday you take away
my license and then today you expect me to show it to you!'

This is really amazing and beautiful

Good Morning Good News !!!! September 2, 2010

Good Morning Good News !!!!

I'm gonna try not to miss a day in September !!!!

Morning! We'll they're really gonna do it to me. I see my car seat going
in the truck. Gee and I can't even drive to the vet, even if I agree to
go. Mom says, yeah right, I know YOU Vincent, you'll take off in the
opposite direction and we'll miss our appointment. All I did was sneeze
and snot a little, it's not like this is a problem. I don't hurt or
nothin! And when I get back mom says I'm stuck in the office with the
bills! This is an outrage! Sam is trying to escape too. He hates to have
his eye pressure checked and he hates to have eye drops and he even
hates to ride in the truck. I like that, I can see out the window and I
like to wave at all the doggies and kitties we go by! Well I'll be back
later, probably with some kind of foul slime they're gonna start
cramming down my mouth. Sam and me is plotting ......

Been having unexpectedly high water bills lately?

It's really cool at night these days, huh? I think if I was in charge
of that I'd stir up night and day and make it just right all the time!!!
The hoomans are still talking summer and hot hot hot. But us aminals
knows better. We've already started eating more. Lots more. We, well
some of my friends, lose lots of our warm insulting lining in the summer
and our fur gets thinner and cooler too. And now we have to eat lots
more to build it back up. Please try to help me convince mom that I
lost my fat and really need to eat lots of cans of Fancy Feast to build
it back up!!! She says I look the same! We're all shedding like mad
now too - got to get the rest of that thin summer coat out so the thick
winter one can come in.

You know we really are a lot smarter than hoomans. We just eat and we
grow the right covering for the season! You have to worry and fuss and
muss about winter clothes and summer clothes. And it's so funny, you
actually think you're ... how do you say it? ... higher on the
evolutionary chain! He...he...he...

Good Morning Good News !!!! September 1, 2010

Good Morning Good News !!!!

Welcome to September !!!!

Another month and I love YOU even MORE !!!!

Mommey's been doing a real lousy job raising the money to buy that ton
of cat food at the special price. Leave it to HER, she's just a hooman
after all. My pal and step-brofur has made an offer to help!! Check
this out !!!

My name is Sam, and I am an alumni of Rikki's Refuge. I found my
"forever home" after only 4 months at Rikki's, but I know a lot of my
buddies are still down there and need our help.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4946437501/

I make a pretty good allowance every week doing my chores. I am the
family's alarm clock; I start meowing 5 minutes before the alarm goes
off – no matter what time they set it! Plus, I'm even fluent in the
snooze alarm. My other job is keeping my Poppa safe in the bathtub. I
can't see thru that shower curtain, so I sit on the toilet and talk to
him while he's in there. He talks back to me, so I know that he didn't
go down that little hole in the bottom of the tub. You know, you can
never be too careful.

I talked to my momma and poppa, and agreed to take on some extra chores
to earn extra money. I'm gonna make sure that the squirrels and blue
jays only take one peanut each trip to the backyard. Whenever I'm out
in the yard with Poppa, I'm gonna take extra care to patrol the
perimeter and make sure no snakes get in our backyard to scare my momma.
Plus, I'm gonna keep a better watch on the catnip plants to keep them
from going to seed. I figure I'm gonna be making good money for a 7
year old tan tabby.

So, I'm issuing all of you a challenge. I'll put up all my allowance up
to $500 to anyone who donates to the food fund for Vincent. That means,
if you donate $50, I'll match your $50 so that Vinnie will have $100.
All you have to do is donate. The mouse gauntlet has been thrown down.
Dare me to have to spend all $500. It's up to you.

Mommey went-ed away yesterday and was on the radio with her hero Rebecca
Farris!
http://indymedialive.blogspot.com/

While she was gone my neurotic brofur Bobbin was nowhere to be found.
Everybody was worried about him, maybe he slipped out some how? When mom
got home Valerie told her and she went around singing her, "Bob, Bob,
Bobbin, where's my Bob, Bob, Bobbin, my boy!" And as soon as she stepped
in the cat trailer singing, he ran and jumped on mom's shoulder! Mommey
has silly songs for each of us. Do you sing silly songs to your
furkids? Tell me what they are!

I just won a 14 zillion $ grant to study the relative intelligence of
various species. Here's our first study. Can I have your vote please? Is
the creature who can spit the longest or the one hangs around annoying
the other and getting spit on the most intelligent?

Good Morning Good News !!!! August 29, 2010

Good Morning Good News !!!!

Stop in for party at 3 this afternoon if you can! Two celebrations!
Thank you Teens and
Thank you Voters!!!

Looks like another lovely day today !!!! What great weather we're
having huh?

WOO HOO! Walker is sooo happy he sends Dog Haiku --

I lie belly-up
In the sunshine, happier than
You ever will be

Today I sniffed
Many dog butts-I celebrate
By kissing your face.

I am your best friend,
Now, always, and especially
When you are eating.

Mark your calendar for the September 6th noon Labor Day Tour. Just one
tour and it takes off at noon - be there !!! Gates open at 11:30 am!!!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthpicturegalleries/7963657/A-long-tailed-macaque-monkey-adopts-a-kitten-in-the-forests-of-Bali-Indonesia.html?image=4

Katarina and volunteers hiked the woods yesterday and checked out the
log cabin and have plans for the Haunted Woods Trail at the Fall Furr
Festival !!!!! Put October 23rd noon - 5 pm on your calendar!

I need some more volunteers to help at events and festivals. It's easy,
clean, and some are climate controlled, all kinds of locations. Do
your opposable thumbs work? Can you smile? That's all that's needed!
Hang out at a table with our display and hand out flyers. If you can
help let me know, I'll let you know when and where events are and you
can pick!!

Have a wonderful Sunday !!!!

Good Morning Good News !!!! August 28, 2010

Good Morning Good News !!!!

Good Morning!! It IS Thursday morning? Right? Hmm is time flying again!!!

Everything is GOOD here, busy, but business as usual. No problems, just
lots to do. Thanks to all of you calling and writing to ask if I'm ok
since I've been out of touch for a couple days. Nothing but busy my
friends!!!

PARTY TIME - WE'RE HAVING A CELEBRATION !!!!
SUNDAY TOMORROW (sorry for short notice, been too busy to get my paws on
the keys) 8/29 3 pm
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4751216459/

It's a two for one celebration !!!!

First for our THANK YOU TEENS C.A.R.E PARTY
Katrina ran the Teens C.A.R.E. program all summer long. Every Thursday
they'd gather here at Rikki's at 8 o'clock in the morning and they'd
work like dogz (not laze in the sun like us smart cats!) all day long,
all the way till 5 o'clock. And YOU know how hot it was all summer
long! This is DEDICATION to the animals - like ME!!!

It was hot and their work was hard and tiring. Not to mention dirty and
smelly. They zipped thru litterboxes - about 60 of them. Pooper
scooped dog runs. Mucked pens. Scrubbed and mopped floors. Cleaned
cages. And best of all fed us!!

It was a terrific program and really helped Lena and the staff out a LOT
this summer. SO MUCH extra work was done over the summer with this
program - we'd like to let the kids know how much they meant to us.

Every animal area here will have a way for the animals to say thank you
with decorations and an activity for them to participate in. Great
games like Who can Feed Vincent the Most Fancy Feast!!!

These teenagers are seriously fantastic people who have done so much for
us and will continue to do great things if we all encourage and support
them. We've also invited their parents and any siblings who want to come
to see what they have been doing all summer.

And Secondly we're adding the Victory Voting for Vincent Party !!!
Congratulations to all of YOU who voted !!!! YOU who made this
possible. So PLEASE come out. And please play Who can Feed Vincent the
Most Fancy Feast!!!

So everybody is invited !!! Come and say Congratulations to all the
wonderful Teens and Voters!!!

Love,
Vincent
PS http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikkis_refuge/4712518035/

PPS If you don't want your Daily Good New, just let me know! A couple
of you have said you only want Hairballs with out the Good News!!
That's ok! Just tell me. I'm here to make you happy, just tell me how!
If Good New don't make you happy - I could always start Bad News, but,
as you hoomans say, why reinvent the wheel - that's what you've got tv
and newspapers for !!!!!
